Same votes from me. I just don't think I could play male characters on this game and it just would not feel comfortable.

I like playing female chars...I relate to them more. Some look kinda like me. All of them have their own stories and such. It's easier to relate to your chars when they're like you.

Male, was once all male but recently I've been making female characters (War and ele), 20 years old

My males are various extensions of my attitude, Females are more *ahem* daydream fantasies. Like Mojave the majority of my chars have background stories.

I'm 24, male. Got 4 male chars and 3 female chars. I'm fond of creating chars in Prophecies, and some of the male toons *coughnecrocough* are just lousy

Im female-Female only charecters, as its been said before, i feel i can relate and be more comfortable knowing that im being gender specific by playing the same gender charecters;p also aids confusion about your actual gender, generally stops people adressing me as a "he" ^^ but you get the odd exception of course;p
oh im 15 by the way too, so in the teen catergory.

I dunno why....some1 told me that its cuz i want something good to look at while i grind my PvE toons through the massive storylines and i just want a tough looking PvP toon.. i think i agree but, meh

voted female - female only chars - 18 to 45 bracket (way too close to the upper end of that in "real" years, in my mind I'm still sweet 16

I have 3 "girls" my warrior, my ele and my ranger (so far) and they all have stories/backgrounds etc.

Basically they are just an extension of me. Each one reflects a different aspect of my personality. I really don't think that I could play a male character, just wouldn't feel right.

someone in another thread mentioned female gamers not being as "serious" at gaming and just being there to chat with other pepole. Well, that may be the case for some women/girls, but i don't think we can be generalized into that one catagory. i find that insulting.

I'm female, OAP (last year), and I play all female characters. Maybe it's a female tendency but they do seem to be different parts of my personality (especially the warrior and mesmer).

I've tried creating male characters, going through all the steps and then cancelling at the last moment - just couldnt' connect to them.

As to in-game chat, most of it seems to consist of fantasy sex conducted by, hopefully, early to mid-teen boys. I don't think most female gamers would participate in that. I have been known to start a chat with another female about the "joys" of raising children to chase the immature idiots away.

Background stories are fun! At first I thought I was weird because I hadn't met anyone else who did that too. But yay, we have something in common ^_^

As a writer, it comes natural for me to create and develop characters of both sexes; plus aliens, animals, and intelligent machines. Of my ten Guild War characters, seven are male, three female, and I do not role play any of them, although it would be very easy for me to do so.

Male in the 18-45 year bracket and most of my characters are female.
Female: Kityn(Necromancer), Brandy(Warrior), Mia(Assassin), Sarainya(Elementalist), Janira(Ranger), Wileny(Paragon), Thuma(Mesmer)
Male: Derek(Warrior), Raptor(Ranger), Wunya(Dervish)

Reason: I like the armors more. And I like my characters to look great while killing hordes of the enemy. I also have background stories for my characters.

Someone explain this idea of "background stories" to me...I'm kind of attach to my main char (mainly because he's the only 1 I use these days) but I have never even considered making up some fictional life for him.

For me Admins, it's to satisfy all the facets of my personality and because as time has passed I have grown very, very attached to my "girls"

My very first char I never really got attached to; hence she got deleted. My next char, Morrigan, another warrior was the first to get a history. The background/stories thing grew as I grew more attached to her and as her story grew and solidified I made her her "sisters" for company, who also have stories intertwined with Morri's.

Maybe I just have an overactive imagination, dunno. But it helps to make the GW experience more satisfying for me, when my chars have a background.

Hehe all my chars have backstorys and personalitys. My guild friends and I have had a whole Saga going on for months while playing gw. The story has developed from the actions of several different characters. (Although Nightfall seemed to steal alot of the ideas we had in our Saga even though we thought them up long before it was released

)
